Lori's Hands 2.6

Lori's Hands is an initiative that engages college student volunteers to offer in-home support to individuals suffering from chronic illnesses, such as cancer, multiple sclerosis, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), and heart failure.

The student volunteers assist with various tasks, including grocery shopping and yard work, which can become challenging for those affected by these conditions. In return, recipients share profound insights into the realities of living with chronic illness, enriching the students' understanding of the human experience.

Students participate through a dedicated club and service learning courses. These volunteer opportunities are transformative experiences that significantly enhance their academic journey, equipping them to become empathetic and well-informed professionals in their future careers.

Currently, Lori's Hands is actively seeking funding to establish the necessary infrastructure to expand this impactful model to other college campuses.
